Make a Donation – Become a “Friend of Scouting”

The income of the South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America, comes from many different sources. The single largest source of income in providing Scouting’s character development programs to over 58,000 youth right here in South Florida is the “Friends of Scouting” Campaign.

The Friends of Scouting Campaign is South Florida Council’s annual fundraising efforts and now accounts for more than 43% of the overall budget. The Friends of Scouting drive is comprised of two campaigns – the Family Campaign and the Community Campaign.

In the Family Campaign, funds are raised from the families that are actively participating in the programs of Scouting. Families are urged to give at the Family Level of $150. This is what it costs South Florida Council to deliver one year of Scouting programs to one youth.

In the Community Campaign, South Florida Council seeks support from local businesses and individuals who share the same values and beliefs as the Boy Scouts of America, but are not necessarily active in the program.

The following are the various levels of giving in the Community Campaign:

$250 - 499	Leadership Division
$500 - 999	Patron Division
$1,000 - 2,499	Guardian Division
$2,500 - 4,999	Sponsor Division
$5,000 - 9,999	Golden Eagle Division
$10,000 & Up	Distinguished Eagle Division

The Society of Golden Eagles

The exclusive “Society of Golden Eagles” is for all contributors whose annual support of the South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America, reaches or surpasses $5,000.00.

Help Make up the Money Lost from the United Way!

The South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America, no longer receives funding from the United Way of Miami-Dade County or the United Way of Broward County. Both of these organizations withdrew their support of Scouting because of our membership standards.

The funding lost was in excess of $700,000 annually, which was earmarked for our ScoutReach programs for “at-risk” youth who cannot afford the programs of Scouting without assistance from the Council. This lost support has severely impacted our abilities to provide the character building programs of Scouting to those who need it the most.

Despite these challenges, we pledge to you that our values are not for sale. Through your support, we will continue to provide the best character development program available to as many youth as possible, helping them learn important life skills and make positive choices throughout their lifetime.
